Nevett Wilkinson Frawley Lawyers is looking for a Litigator, with expertise in any combination of Wills & Estates Litigation, Family Law and/or Commercial Litigation and an aspiration for leadership and future equity opportunities.
The Company
Well-established in the Western and Central Highlands districts of Victoria, Nevett Wilkinson Frawley Lawyers have seen significant growth over the past six years following our integration with Curwen-Walker Conveyancing & Legal (Daylesford & Castlemaine) and Griffin Conveyancing (Castlemaine). We are looking to add an experienced Lawyer, with expertise in or aspiration to learn Litigation in the Wills & Estates, Family Law, Commercial and/or Property/Construction field, to our team and to become an integral part of our expanding business.
This opportunity offers to reward the right candidate with an prospect to grow with the legal services offering to our Central Highlands expansion, and/or continue to grow our Western Victoria litigation practise, with reward for effort at the core of our team dynamic. The ideal candidate will be a proven performer within private practise, who can identify the legal and factual issues, conduct appropriate research including powered by AI, draft correspondence, advice and documents and build a strong rapport with clients, Counsel and colleagues.
Some post-qualification experience will best suit this role, with appropriate role title and remuneration to match, but it is not essential for your application to be considered.
The role will otherwise include:
Running litigation and associated advisory files, both alone and in conjunction with Partners & Senior Lawyers of the firm, including our LIV Accredited Property Law & Commercial Litigation Specialists,
and top tier trained Property Law Partner
Managing the dispute resolution process including advocacy success
Managing discovery and trial preparation
Drafting and preparation of complex documents and advices
Liaising with clients and external stakeholders
Meeting with clients and taking instructions for litigious and commercial matters
Work towards taking a lead role in continuing to grow the litigation practise and improve service levels for our clients
The Role
To succeed with your application, you will:
Have exceptional drafting and organisational skills, show initiative, and have impeccable attention to detail
Be a team player, with an ability to work both autonomously, and as part of the group
Have a current Australian Drivers’ Licence
Have a "can do", "solution focussed" attitude, with an ability to add to a positive work culture
Possess sound knowledge of the full Microsoft Suite
Experience using Smokeball Legal Practice Management System, or similar, will be highly regarded, including time recording
Hold a current Australian legal practising certificate

Position based from any of our Bendigo, Ballarat, Beaufort, Castlemaine or Daylesford offices, with an expectation for multi-office collaboration and attendances as required (travel costs and associated salary packaging available to be discussed).
