The role:

In consultation with all departments and through their team the EI&C; Plant Engineer has the responsibility of coordinating all activities involving electrical, instrumentation and process control maintenance and capital work as well as ensuring the operations under their control meets the financial and production goals.

Key responsibilities of the role include leading and supervising a team of dual trade (electrical and instrumentation) technicians engaged in breakdown recovery, maintenance and plant upgrade activities as well as ensuring that all completed work meets the electrical safety standards and relevant legislative requirements.

In order to support organisational growth this position is expected to actively contribute to the development of a continuous improvement culture and assist with the optimisation of tools and systems.

Key position requirements:

- Proven people management and technical leadership experience within a continuous industrial process servicing electrical, instrument and control equipment in a reliability centred maintenance based environment

- Extensive experience in the application of Australian standards, acts, regulations, company standards and specifications as they pertain to the EI&C; field





- Proven experience in the management of safe systems of work e.g. via risk assessments, safe work method statements, low voltage isolation, high voltage isolation and access

- Proven skills and experience in planning, budgeting, monitoring, control and reporting on maintenance and capital project activities and co-ordination of breakdown restoration, as associated with the electrical, instrumentation and process control systems of a manufacturing or similar operation

- Competence in electrical design, modification, addition, repair and electrical verification compliant to AS3000 in an industrial context

- Demonstrated experience with management of change for electrical and programmable equipment

- Previous experience leading the development, storage, maintenance and use of plant records e.g. calculations, test reports, electrical drawings, P&IDs; etc.

- Demonstrated working knowledge and skills as associated with the fields of electrical and process control; in particular, with high voltage and low voltage distribution, protection systems and process control e.g. DCS, PLC, SCADA

- High level technical problem solving skills; including the ability to identify and resolve electrical, instrumentation and control systems issues in a protected, timely and thorough manner





- Effective communication skills; including the ability to effectively liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and to lead and mentor a trade and apprentice maintenance team

- Well-developed computer application skills e.g. Microsoft suite, and experience with the use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

- Demonstrated working knowledge of electrical licencing requirements in NSW

Desirable requirements:

- Relevant skills and experience associated with sugar milling and refining operations or similar heavy industry (Preferred)

- Cert 3 Trade qualifications in electrotechnology and instrumentation & control (Advantageous)

- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years relevant post graduate experience (Preferred)

- NSW Qualified supervisor Certificate (or equivalent) (Advantageous)
