Busy cafe The Little Elephant, 23 Spring Rd, Highett VIC is now recruiting an experienced full time Cook to join our growing team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook dishes following standard recipes and instructions
- Portion and plate food to service standards for à la carte, buffet and catering
- Prep ingredients – wash, peel, cut and marinate
- Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, grills, fryers and food processors
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all food preparation areas
- Store food correctly at required temperatures to ensure quality and prevent spoilage
- Assist with stocktakes and ordering of kitchen supplies
- Follow all food safety procedures and workplace health & safety guidelines




- Work effectively as part of a kitchen brigade under the direction of the Chef / Head Chef

Benefits and perks

Excellent salary package ($79,000 - $90,000) will be awarded to the right candidate

Skills and experience

Ideal Candidate must be:

- Minimum 1 year fulltime experience in a similar role
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer service, excellent quality food production and service
- Sound leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to be highly organized, reliable and responsible
- Effectively work well under pressure
- Must be able to commit for the long term
