The role of the Finance Officer is to conduct all administrative and operational aspects of the finance function for Swinburne Student Association including development and implementation of robust data collection and storage initiatives, and finance systems and processes, that support the various teams within Swinburne Student Association to deliver quality student experiences at Swinburne. The role will work closely with all areas of Swinburne Student Association to ensure compliance, best practice and integrity of Swinburne Student Association's financial management and performance.
The incumbent will be primarily based at the Hawthorn Campus.
Please note the role is expected to commence from Monday 31st August and is a fixed-term contract offer to 30 June 2027.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
Proficiency in accounting software (we use MYOB) and Microsoft Office software and ability to process accounts payable and accounts receivable accounts in a timely and productive manner;
Demonstrated ability to identify and implement initiatives through the analysis of financial and business performance reports with measurable outcomes; and
Demonstrated ability to manage financial and associated administrative tasks in an organisation with an annual budget of circa $4 million per annum (or greater).
Qualifications
A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (at least 12 months experience is highly preferred); an associate diploma with at least two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in accounting and finance.
Swinburne Student Association (SSA) is Swinburne's independent student-led organisation focused on the design and delivery of a leading student experience at Swinburne, where students drive the decisions we make. Our services are across a variety of areas including Clubs and Sports, leadership and student wellbeing initiatives, the Swinburne Advocacy Service (SAS), and our Events and Experience Program across Swinburne's campuses.
The SSA is governed by a Board of Directors that exists to champion the student voice, creating opportunities for growth, leadership and community for students at Swinburne.
