Job Description

JK STEELFIXING PTY LTD The Formwork Carpenter is responsible for building, setting up, fitting, and removing formwork systems used in concrete construction across residential, commercial, and civil projects. The role involves assembling, installing, and dismantling formwork for concrete structures, reading and interpreting construction drawings, setting out and aligning formwork in accordance with project specifications, measuring and cutting materials accurately, using tools and equipment efficiently, and ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with WHS regulations, relevant building codes, and company standards across various construction sites.

Work locations may vary depending on project requirements, and the role may involve working across different construction sites as directed by the employer.

Task & responsibilities

- Building, installing, and dismantling formwork for concrete structures such as foundations, walls, columns, beams, and slabs
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans, and specifications
- Setting out, aligning, bracing, and levelling formwork to meet engineering and safety standards
- Cutting, shaping, and assembling timber, plywood, and other materials used in formwork systems
- Safely stripping formwork while maintaining the integrity of completed concrete structures




- Measuring and marking materials accurately using appropriate tools
- Installing temporary supports, structures, and safety barriers as required
- Operating hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintaining, repairing, and storing formwork systems and timber components
- Complying with WHS requirements, building codes, and company policies and procedures

Qualification & experience

- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Formwork Carpenter or in a similar construction role
- Certificate III in Carpentry or a related trade (preferred but not essential)
- Sound knowledge of timber, conventional, or modular formwork systems
- Ability to read and follow construction drawings and instructions
- Competency in the use of carpentry tools and construction equipment
- Valid White Card (mandatory)
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a safety-focused attitude
