Our Putney centre is a 60-place, purpose-built centre consisting of 2 rooms with a beautiful outdoor space. We care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years and are open from 7:30am to 6:00pm.

About the Role – Centre Chef

We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Centre Chef to join our team in a temporary position, with the possibility to a permanent position.

This role plays an important part in supporting children's health, wellbeing, and development by providing nutritious, high-quality meals in a safe and hygienic environment.

Responsibilities include:





- Preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.
- Catering for individual dietary requirements, allergies, cultural preferences, and medical needs.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen environment.
- Ordering food and kitchen supplies and managing stock levels.
- Maintaining accurate food safety records and kitchen documentation.
- Supporting a positive, welcoming, and child-safe environment for all children and families.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

- Have full Australian working rights (e.g. citizen or permanent resident)
- Be available to work Monday to Friday, with hours negotiable (approximately 7:30am – 1:30pm).
- Have previous cooking experience, preferably within an early childhood education and care setting.
- Demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills
- Have excellent time management and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
- Show initiative and work with minimal supervision.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, infection control, and cross-contamination prevention
- Be a reliable and supportive team member
- Hold or be willing to obtain a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to child safety and appropriate workplace conduct.
- Uphold Fit Kidz's Child Safe Policy and Code of Conduct at all times.
- Hold or be willing to obtain a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
- Provide a minimum of two professional referees.
