Group Manager Environment and Regulatory Services

To help us achieve this we are seeking a progressive, energetic leader to drive excellence in our Environment & Regulatory Services Group. As Group Manager you will oversee a team of 38 skilled and field staff and play a vital role in the leadership team of the Community Planning and Environment Division.
On a day-to-day basis, this role will:
- Lead the strategic direction and day-to-day operationsof the Environment & Regulatory Services Group.
- Provide oversight to the following council services through your team Managers and Coordinators; Natural Resources, Sustainability, Environmental, Environmental Health, Development Compliance, Ranger and Animal services
- Ensure compliance with legislation and safety standardswhile promoting a safety-first culture among the team.
- Manage service delivery within budgetary constraints.
- Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, andcontinuous improvement through effective leadership and mentorship, ensuringoperational excellence in environmental and regulatory services.
The Environment and RegulatoryServices team is passionate about delivering what we say we will to ourcommunity to meet their needs now and into the future. Our immediate prioritiesinclude embedding Council's new Compliance and Enforcement Policy, deliveringkey environmental strategies including the Biodiversity Management Action Planand Urban Canopy Plan, and meeting the regulatory demands of one of the fastestgrowing regions in NSW.
To succeed in this role you will have:
- Relevant degree level qualificationsin Environmental Management, Environmental Science or Environmental Health or anequivalent combination of skills and experience.
- Demonstratedexperience in a senior leadership role including managing, coaching anddeveloping teams.
- Highlydeveloped oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, withdemonstrated stakeholder engagement and community consultation experience.
- Experiencein driving continuous improvement and innovation to enhance service delivery.
- Provenability to deliver customer-focused services, assess complex issues, andsupport evidence-based decision-making, integrating sustainability andresilience considerations into planning and operations.
Remuneration and Benefits
Employment Type: Full time, Permanent 35 hours perweek
Starting salary in the range of $220k - $230k (inclusive of superannuation)
Option of leaseback or vehicle allowance
