A well-regarded alternatives and private markets manager is looking for an Associate Director, Distribution to lead capital raising across the wholesale channel in NSW. This is a genuine relationship-driven distribution seat - owning coverage of the sophisticated investor market and converting a strong, differentiated product set into net inflows.
The manager has an established track record across private markets and a compelling suite of strategies to take to market. You'll join at a point where the platform is scaling and the distribution agenda is a genuine priority for the business.
The role
Reporting to the Head of Distribution, you'll take end-to-end ownership of capital raising across the wholesale segment - building the pipeline, running the relationships, and closing the commitments.
- Raise capital across the wholesale market: financial advisers, private banks, family offices, & high-net-worth investors
- Build, own and grow a book of relationships with sophisticated and wholesale investors, becoming their first point of contact for the manager's strategies.
- Drive net inflows and FUM growth against transparent targets, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through to allocation.
- Represent the firm's alternatives and private markets strategies with genuine technical credibility - articulating the investment case, structure and fit.
- Work closely with the investment and product teams to translate strategy performance and positioning into compelling client-facing narratives.
- Secure and manage platform and APL placements, and support product launches and capital raises.
- Represent the manager at industry events, conferences and roadshows, and maintain a disciplined pipeline through the CRM.
What you'll bring
- A proven capital raising or wholesale distribution track record within funds management - ideally with alternatives, private markets or private credit exposure.
- An established network across the wholesale channel that you can activate from day one.
- Strong technical understanding of alternatives and the ability to hold a credible conversation with sophisticated investors on structure, strategy and returns.
- A self-starting, commercially hungry approach - comfortable owning targets and operating with autonomy.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills, and the gravitas to represent the brand externally.
- RG146 compliant; relevant tertiary qualifications (and CFA/postgraduate study viewed favourably).
