The Chance
There comes a point in a structural engineer's career when the next move needs to offer more than another collection of projects.
It needs to offer influence, autonomy and the opportunity to lead.
We're representing a highly regarded, well-established engineering consultancy in Western Sydney seeking an experienced Principal Structural Engineer who is CPEng to take responsibility for its structural engineering division.
This is an opportunity for someone who has already established themselves technically but now wants greater involvement in people, clients, business development and the future direction of a successful structural business.
You’ll have the platform, reputation and existing business behind you, the opportunity is to take it forward.
Your Role
You’ll take responsibility across the structural division, including:
- Leadership and development of the structural engineering team
- Technical oversight and senior-level design review
- Project direction and successful client delivery
- Building and maintaining key client relationships
- Business development and identifying new opportunities
- Mentoring and developing engineers
- Resource planning and project performance
- Helping determine the future direction and growth of the division
This isn't a role where you'll spend every day behind a computer designing.
They need someone who can lead engineers, lead clients and lead the business forward.
About You
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- CPEng and around 10+ years' Australian local structural consultancy experience
- Strong commercial and industrial building experience
- Proven structural design and technical review capability
- Experience leading and developing engineers
- Strong client management and project delivery skills
- Business development and commercial awareness
- The confidence and ambition to take responsibility for an entire structural division
Why Consider It?
For the right person, this could become a career-defining move.
You’re not being simply filling a Principal Structural Engineer position. You’re being brought in to take responsibility for an established division and help determine what it becomes over the next five to ten years.
If you’ve reached the stage where you’re ready to move from being an important person within a structural team to becoming the person who leads it, this opportunity deserves a confidential conversation.
