We are proud of our strong organisational culture, commitment to sustainability and purposeful growth in the development of Australian infrastructure.

Our brand is built on trust, technical expertise, safety and reliable delivery. This role is critical to helping us continue to shape safety culture across the organisation.

About the role

Reporting to the Group HSEQ Manager, you will be responsible for promoting and reinforcing Fleurieu Cranes' commitment to Safety First. Zero Harm. The role provides practical support to operational teams by identifying and managing risk, coaching safe work practices, monitoring compliance and ensuring lessons learned are translated into continual improvement across the business.

Providing practical safety leadership across multiple projects and depots, you will work closely with our crane crew, internal and external stakeholders and customers to ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with legislative requirements, regulations and client expectations.

This role is a combination of field‑based and office‑based work,

What you’ll be doing
Champion and promote a proactive safety culture across all areas of the business.
Conduct regular worksite inspections, audits and compliance reviews across job sites and projects.

Develop, review and continuously improve company safety systems, policies and procedures.
Prepare, review and approve Secure Work Method Statements (SWMS) and other safety‑based documentation as required.
Conduct incident and near‑miss investigations, identifying root causes and recommending effective corrective actions and training.
Collaborate on toolbox meetings, safety alerts, pre‑start meetings and site safety briefings.
Assist in monitoring fatigue management, fitness for work and return‑to‑work processes.
Complete regular safety reporting and trend analysis for senior management.
Provide practical coaching and mentoring to supervisors and employees on hazard identification, risk management and safe work practices.
Liaise professionally with customers, contractors and regulatory authorities.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and the implementation of the WHS strategy across the business.

About you

Excellent understanding of Australian WHS legislation.
Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and high attention to detail.
Ability to influence positive safety behaviours at all organisational levels.
Strong organisational and time management skills.

Why this role is different

At Fleurieu Cranes, safety is more than compliance – it’s the foundation of everything we do. We invest in our people, equipment and systems to ensure every employee returns home safely each day.

This is not a desk‑only role. You will get the opportunity to see real work happening, work with experienced people, capture impressive equipment and projects, and help promote a respected South Australian business.

How to apply

If you’re looking to join a company where safety is a daily priority and you want to play a key role in shaping the future of our safety culture, we’d love to hear from you.
