About the Role
The Principal Consultant is a senior advisory role responsible for leading complex asset management projects, managing key client relationships, and mentoring project teams. This position is critical to expanding our advisory practice and offers a clear pathway to leadership succession as COSOL continues to grow its footprint across mining and other asset-intensive industries.
What You'll Do
Client & Business Development
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with major mining operators and key client stakeholders
- Act as a trusted advisor in client-facing meetings, bringing deep technical and industry credibility to every conversation
- Identify and drive business development opportunities within existing accounts
- Support the growth of new accounts by identifying client needs and shaping tailored asset management solutions
- Represent COSOL's advisory capability in client discussions, proposals, and pitches
- Work closely with sales and capability leadership to convert opportunities into scoped, resourced engagements
- Lead multiple asset management projects concurrently across different clients and sites
- Develop robust project schedules, plans, and reporting structures to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard
- Manage the ongoing trade-offs between cost, risk, and performance throughout project execution
- Proactively identify and resolve project issues, risks, and bottlenecks before they impact delivery
- Select, coordinate, and deploy the right resources and skill sets against project needs
- Monitor project performance against scope, budget, and timeline, adjusting plans as required
- Ensure quality outcomes and client satisfaction across all project deliverables
- Mentor and guide project teams throughout delivery, ensuring consistency, quality, and knowledge transfer
- Mentor and coach project managers, engineers, analysts, and consultants across the advisory practice
- Provide technical guidance and support the professional development of junior and mid-level team members
- Support the development of advisory capability, tools, and methodologies to strengthen COSOL's offering
- Contribute to a culture of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement within the practice
- Play an active role in shaping the future direction and growth of the advisory team
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a focus on Asset Management / Reliability
- Senior consulting experience in asset management, reliability engineering, or related fields
- Engineering background in mining, mechanical, reliability, maintenance, or electrical disciplines
- Ideally a blend of advisory/consultancy and site-based experience
- Proven project leadership experience managing multiple client engagements
- Experience in business development and account growth
- Strong client engagement, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, action-oriented "doer" personality
- Strategic thinking and superior problem-solving abilities
- Mentorship and leadership capability
