Working arrangements: Hybrid working model (Mondays & Tuesdays in the Burwood office)

About the role:

Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is delivering the largest transportation infrastructure program Australia has ever seen to keep people and goods moving across the state. Working within the dynamic Operational Sourcing team, this role provides critical procurement expertise and operational support to meet organisational and customer objectives.

As a Procurement Officer, you will conduct end-to-end sourcing activities, manage accurate and timely purchase order processing, and act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders across the agency. This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate across Finance, Procurement Services, Solution Centres, and the Centre of Excellence while contributing to high-quality service delivery and continuous process improvement.

- End-to-End Sourcing: Conduct end-to-end sourcing events for goods and services in accordance with procurement policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Tender & Contract Documentation: Draft RFQ/RFP documents and contracts (excluding technical scopes of work) in alignment with the NSW Government Procurement Framework.
- Procure-to-Pay (P2P): Execute accurate and timely processing of Purchase Orders and purchase requisitions using key procurement systems.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Guidance: Provide meaningful advice, information, and problem-solving support to internal stakeholders and external suppliers on routine procurement matters.
- Commercial Negotiation:



Participate in price negotiations and supplier evaluations to establish and review supply arrangements that achieve value for money.
- Compliance & Reporting: Maintain accurate procurement records, monitor Whole-of-Government (WofG) schemes and approved panels, and generate procurement activity reports.

Skills & Experience:

- Sourcing Experience: Proven track record managing end-to-end sourcing events for goods and services, including drafting RFQs/RFPs and contracts.
- P2P Expertise: Hands-on experience navigating Procure-to-Pay (P2P) workflows and transactional procurement processes.
- Communication & Problem-Solving: Effective communication skills with demonstrated initiative and strong problem-solving ability in high-volume environments.
- Customer-Focused Approach: Solid commitment to customer service, positive stakeholder engagement, and upholding professional integrity.
- Systems Knowledge: Prior experience utilizing ARIBA, SAP, Beeline, or Guided Buy is highly preferred.
- Sector Experience: Previous procurement or contract management experience within NSW Government or the broader public sector is desirable.
- Note: Supply chain, inventory, materials planning, and warehousing experience are not required for this role.

Eligibility & Onboarding Requirements:

- Working Rights: Must hold full working rights in Australia (Holiday Visas cannot be considered for this engagement).
- Compliance Checks: Successful candidates will be required to complete 2x professional reference checks, a Police Check, proof of ID sighting, and TfNSW onboarding declarations (including Code of Conduct and List of Rights).
