What You'll Be Doing

As part of our dedicated aged care team, you'll deliver high-quality nursing care and provide clinical leadership across a range of responsibilities:

Person-Centred Nursing Care

Deliver safe, evidence-based, and person-centred nursing care that respects each resident's individual needs, preferences, dignity, and goals, promoting independence and quality of life.

Clinical Assessment & Care Planning

Undertake comprehensive clinical assessments and contribute to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualised care plans that support optimal resident outcomes.

Medication & Treatment Management

Administer medications and treatments in accordance with legislative requirements, professional standards, and organisational policies, ensuring safe and effective care delivery.

Monitoring & Clinical Escalation

Monitor residents' health status, recognise changes in condition, and respond appropriately by escalating clinical concerns to support timely intervention and care.

Clinical Leadership & Supervision

Provide guidance, delegation, and supervision to Enrolled Nurses and Health Care Workers, supporting safe practice, clinical excellence, and positive resident outcomes.

Communication & Consumer Engagement

Build robust relationships with residents, families, carers,



and colleagues through open, respectful communication, supporting informed decision-making and collaborative care planning.

Documentation & Care Coordination

Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical documentation while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and holistic care delivery.

Quality, Safety & Continuous Improvement

Contribute to quality improvement activities, accreditation processes, risk management, and incident reporting while promoting compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards and organisational requirements.

What You Bring

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Demonstrated clinical nursing experience, preferably within aged care
- Experience supporting people living with dementia (desirable)
- Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to provide leadership, supervision, and support to nursing and care staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to person-centred care and resident wellbeing
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Sound knowledge of aged care legislation, professional standards, and clinical governance requirements
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning
- Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold high standards of professional accountability

Situated in the northern sector of the Glenelg Shire and 359 Km West of Melbourne, Casterton Memorial Hospital (CMH) provides a local healthcare facility to the community of Casterton and neighbouring district – servicing a population of approx. 3,000 in its catchment area.
