Position Summary :

The Customer Service / Front Desk team member is responsible for delivering exceptional in-store and phone-based customer service, supporting sales, and ensuring efficient order processing and inventory management. This role is critical in creating a positive customer experience while supporting smooth day-to-day store operations.

Key Requirements :

Previous customer service experience (retail, trade or wholesale preferred)

Robust communication and interpersonal skills

Good attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Basic computer skills

Knowledge of plumbing or building products

Experience in a trade, warehouse or wholesale environment

Job Responsibility :

Customer service and sales support

- Serve customers in-store, providing helpful advice on plumbing and hardware products
- Build strong customer relationships and deliver a positive customer experience
- Assist customers with product selection, pricing and order placement

Communication

- Answer phone calls promptly and professionally




- Respond to customer emails and enquiries in a timely manner
- Follow up on quotes and outstanding customer enquiries
- Pick and pack customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Process sales and prepare orders for collection or delivery
- Coordinate with the warehouse and drivers to ensure timely dispatch

Stock and inventory control

- Receive and check incoming stock against delivery documentation
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and report discrepancies
- Assist with stock organisation, replenishment and stocktakes

Store presentation and safety

- Maintain a clean, organised and safe store environment
- Ensure displays are presentable and products are easily accessible
- Follow all WHS procedures and report hazards

Delivery support (occasional)

- Occasionally deliver orders to customers using a company vehicle
- Ensure deliveries are completed safely and professionally
- Support team members across the branch as required
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture
- Perform additional duties as reasonably directed
