The Role

As a key member of the Centre’s Operations Team, the Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of swimmers and patrons at our aquatic facilities, including 50m, leisure and hydrotherapy pools.

Key to the role is conveying information withauthority andacting as a positive role model for healthy and connected communities, while maintaining a fun and safe setting for all.

Accountabilities

- Maintaining constantsupervision of all patrons within the aquatic facility and conduct routine patrols to ensure the safety of their designatedareas
- Promoting and enforcingaculture of safety to patrons using the aquatic areaswith specific attention to the Royal Life Saving Keep Watch Policy
- Performing various pool maintenance duties as directed, to maintain a clean and safefacility
- Acting immediately and appropriately to assist patrons in the event of an emergency
- Following and leading with centre emergencyaction plans and procedures as required.

Skills and Experience

- Experience as a strong swimmer
- Knowledge of:
- lifesaving methods and procedures, including first aid and standard resuscitation measures




- rules and regulations re conduct of the public at pools

Qualifications

- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Royal Life Saving NSWLifeguard Certificate
- Ability to obtain a valid Working with Children Check
- National Police Check

If you are not qualified but have a suitable background to match this role, we will support your training.
