JAM Joinery and Construction – Winchelsea VIC

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Qualified Cabinet Maker / Joiner to join the team at JAM Joinery and Construction. This is a full-time position (4 day working week) based in Winchelsea, VIC 3241. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, crafting, and installing high-quality cabinetry and joinery work for both residential and commercial projects. Your expertise will be central to delivering exceptional results that meet our clients' specifications and exceed their expectations. Key responsibilities

- Design and plan cabinetry and joinery projects based on client requirements and architectural specifications
- Fabricate bespoke cabinets, drawers, doors and other joinery components using hand tools and machinery
- Measure, cut, shape and assemble materials to precise specifications
- Finish solid timber work through sanding, staining, varnishing and polishing
- Install custom cabinetry and joinery in client properties with attention to detail and quality standards
- Ensure all work complies with relevant building codes, safety regulations and industry standards
- Maintain accurate project documentation, timesheets and material records
- Collaborate with the team to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Conduct regular maintenance and care of workshop equipment and tools
- Provide expert advice to clients regarding design options, materials and finishes

What we're looking for

- Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship in Cabinet Making, Joinery or a related carpentry discipline
- Minimum 3 years' hands-on experience in cabinet making and/or joinery work
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and specifications




- Strong working knowledge of timber species, materials and appropriate finishing techniques
- Competency with both hand tools and woodworking machinery (table saws, edgebander, planers, sanders, etc.)
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances
- Sound understanding of health and safety practices and workplace safety obligations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Problem-solving abilities and a willingness to adapt to new techniques and technologies
- Current or willingness to obtain a valid driver's licence for site visits and material deliveries
