Mainfreight Willawong is looking for a chef to support our current team in a busy corporate canteen. We have an open plan kitchen/dining area, where team members enjoy nourishing meals using fresh high-quality ingredients.

We are looking for a chef who is experienced in contemporary Asian-inspired menus, focusing on fresh, light ingredients and vibrant Southeast Asian flavour profiles.

This isn’t a standard hospitality role. At Mainfreight, we eat together like a family, and our canteen plays a large part in our culture. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their food, shows initiative, and genuinely enjoys putting a smile on people’s faces.

What You’ll Be Doing

Preparing and serving healthy, tasty meals i.e. breakfast & lunch, for up to 70+ team members and drivers.

Creating weekly menus that are well‑balanced, nutritious and offer variety.

Co-manage the day‑to‑day running of the kitchen

Catering for internal functions and special events when required.

Sourcing quality ingredients and liaising with suppliers

Managing food orders, stock, and minimising waste.

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety

Completing basic admin tasks such as banking and record keeping





What We’re Looking For

Previous experience and qualifications as a chef in a similar setting

A genuine passion for healthy, well‑balanced meals

Experience with menu planning and portion control

Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen standards

Excellent organisation and time‑management skills

A friendly, positive personality with a strong work ethic

Someone who enjoys being part a close‑knit team
