About the Role

NWQICSS is seeking a motivated and community-minded individual to deliver mobile laundry services across Mount Isa. As a Laundry Services Support Worker, you will engage respectfully with community members, build strong relationships with key partners, and contribute to a safe, well-coordinated service in collaboration with Orange Sky.

You will work closely with stakeholders including Orange Sky, North West Hospital and Health Service, Gidgee Healing, Public Health Services, and other local providers to ensure a holistic and culturally protected approach to service delivery.

Tasks & responsibilities

- Participate in all required Orange Sky training and orientation activities.

- Understand and follow all safety, cultural safety, and operational procedures.

- Safely operate and drive the Orange Sky Laundry Services vehicle.

- Report all incidents and take part in follow-up and debrief processes.

- Respond to communication from Orange Sky and NWQICSS promptly via phone, email, or in person.

- Build positive, genuine, and respectful connections with community members and stakeholders.





- Set up and pack down equipment each shift, including chairs, baskets, and other laundry items.

- Conduct regular cleaning and basic maintenance to ensure equipment is functioning effectively.

- Refer clients to relevant services based on their social, health, or wellbeing needs.

- Complete shift reports and documentation accurately.

- Support the ongoing development and strengthening of partnerships across the community.

Qualifications & Experience

- Physically able to operate and maintain all equipment (washing machines, dryers, generator/power, hoses, tanks).

- Proven ability to build rapport and communicate respectfully with First Nations people and communities.

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to hold non-judgmental, positive, and supportive conversations.

- Ability to understand and follow safety and operational procedures.

- Commitment to NWQICSS values and strengthening connection with Aboriginal communities.

- Current C-Class Driver's Licence.

- Current National Police Check.

- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).

- Current First Aid Certificate.
