About Your Recent Role

We are seeking an experienced Telco & Network Engineerto lead the design, implementation and delivery of telecommunications infrastructure supporting a major Operational Technology (OT) security telemetry program. Working within a critical infrastructure environment, you will be responsible for translating high-level architecture into detailed technical designs before configuring, testing, commissioning and supporting carrier-grade telecommunications solutions across operational sites. This is a hands-on technical role suited to someone who enjoys owning projects from design through to implementation.

Your Responsibilities

- Design and deliver telecommunications solutions supporting OT security telemetry initiatives.
- Develop detailed low-level designs aligned with telecommunications standards and operational security requirements.
- Configure, build, test and commission Nokia IP/MPLS and Cisco WAN infrastructure.




- Integrate telecommunications infrastructure with firewall security zones.
- Produce implementation work packs, standard configurations, testing documentation and rollback plans.
- Perform laboratory testing and proof-of-concept validation prior to production deployment.
- Validate routing behaviour, interoperability, security controls and failover capabilities.
- Resolve technical integration issues during deployment and commissioning.
- Produce accurate as-built documentation, network diagrams and operational support documentation.
- Work closely with SCADA, Protection & Control and OT teams to ensure telecommunications solutions integrate seamlessly without impacting operational systems.

About You

- Extensive experience designing and delivering telecommunications solutions within Operational Technology (OT) environments.
- Experience designing highly available and resilient carrier-grade networks.
- Will hold relevant IT qualifications and Cisco certifications (CCNP, CCIE or equivalent).
- Have worked within the critical infrastructure sector and experience within SCADA environments.
- You will bring ‘hands on’ MPLS networking products (Nokia IP, Cisco, Juniper or similar).
- Experience with Cisco WAN technologies & IP routing / Switching
