Villaggio promises an unforgettable dining experience. Our team is growing and we need an experienced Cook at our very busy West Ryde restaurant . Main duties andresponsibilities are: Prepare and cook a wide range of menu items with consistency and attention to detail Season and garnish dishes, and prepare gravies and sauces Cook meals according to individual dietary requirements Decorate and present food platters and dishes using herbs, sauces, and garnishes Maintain consistent food quality, portion control and cooking standards Ensure all dishes meet quality, taste, and presentation standards before service Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and marinating.





Minimise food waste and contribute to cost-control efforts Set up workstations with all necessary ingredients and cooking equipment Operate safely and efficiently kitchen equipment including ovens, grills, fryers, and stovetops Understand and control correct storage temperatures of freezers, fridges and cool room to store raw, cooked, and long-life food items, including gravies and sauces Maintain proper food temperatures during storage and cooking Assist with regular stock rotation and monitor expiry dates to minimise waste Estimate weekly food requirements and implement cost-saving measures Assist with menu planning and changes if required Train and mentor junior kitchen staff and new team members, as needed or based on operational requirements Adhere to strict hygiene and safety protocols, including proper allergen handling and delivering food from the kitchen to customers. Key Skills Strong communication and teamwork skills Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and presentation Commitment to maintaining a clean, hygienic, and secure work environment Positive, enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn and mentor others Ability to work independently or collaboratively to meet deadlines

Qualifications Required : To be eligible for the above position, the candidate should have at least Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (with at least two years of on-the-job training) or Certificate IV in Cookery; OR at least three years of full-time, relevant experience in lieu of formal qualifications Remuneration :



The appropriate candidate will be paid $80,000 annually plus superannuation. Work Experience : At least one year of full-time related experience.

Other employment entitlements will be as per National Employment Standards and as per Fair work Instruments as prescribed by the Australian Government Mandatory information In cover letter/email, applicants must include Australian/Overseas Education, Work Experience, resident status wether Australian Citizen or Permanent Residents and English test (IELTS/PTE score) if temporary residents in Australia or living overseas. Note: Australian citizens and permanent residents are preferred.
