Nobody owns marketing here. That's the job.

Let's be clear about what this is. You won't be managing a marketing team, because there isn't one. You are it. You'll do the work yourself — build the campaigns, write the copy, get into the website, read the numbers — with two graphic designers and an admin team executing alongside you, a budget behind you, and no layers to get an idea through.

We're a Melbourne manufacturer and wholesaler running three B2B brands and an online consumer store. Marketing has been done in pieces, by people whose real job was something else, and it has still worked. We want to find out what happens when someone valuable does it properly and full time.

If you're the kind of person who is quietly frustrated by how slowly your current place moves, this is the fix.

About the business

David Golf — since 1956 we've developed, manufactured and distributed products for the golf and turf industry. Today we're Australia's largest supplier and manufacturer of golf course hardware, used on courses across Australia and overseas.

The Corporate Golfer — for over 15 years, a leading supplier of branded promotional golf products to corporate clients and the promotional merchandise industry.

MK Specialty Printing — our decoration business: pad printing, embroidery, DTF, laser engraving and sublimation. It's why we can quote, print and ship without waiting on anyone else.

And a fourth brand — a direct-to-consumer online store we'd rather tell you about at interview than in a job ad.

Four brands, four audiences, four websites. Golf clubs and turf managers. Promotional distributors and corporate buyers.

And consumers who buy direct.

What you'll own

- Paid social — Meta primarily, across both the B2B and consumer sides

- LinkedIn — organic and paid, for the trade and corporate audiences

- Email — Klaviyo across the brands: campaigns, flows, segmentation, reporting

- Websites — WordPress and WooCommerce across four sites. Landing pages, product content, conversion work

- SEO — technical and content

- Reporting — what's working, what isn't, and what you're doing about it

- Whatever else you reckon will move the numbers — video, partnerships, trade shows, a channel we're not on yet. Bring it and back it.

How we work

We use AI seriously, not as a novelty. You'll be given the tools you need and expected to use them — the point is for one person to get through what would otherwise take a team. If you're already using AI to do your job faster, you'll recognise how we operate. If you haven't had the chance yet but you're curious, that's fine — we'll get you there.

You'll work largely on your own initiative. Nobody is going to check your task list. What we'll look at is whether the numbers moved.

About you

- 3+ years running digital marketing hands-on — ideally somewhere small enough that you did the work yourself rather than briefing it out

- Confident in Meta Ads Manager: you can build, test and read a campaign without an agency holding the account

- Klaviyo or similar at a flow-and-segment level, not just sending

- Comfortable in WordPress/WooCommerce — pages, products, plugins. You don't need to code, but you shouldn't be put off by it

- Working knowledge of SEO and GA4, and the sense to know which numbers matter

- You can write. Copy that sounds like a person, not a brochure

- Organised enough to run several brands at once without dropping any of them

- Ambitious, and a bit impatient with it. The people who do well here would rather ship something on Tuesday than perfect it by Friday

- Golf industry experience is a bonus, not a requirement. We can teach you the products. We can't teach you initiative.

What we can offer you

- Real autonomy, and a very short path from idea to live

- A budget for tools, media and training

- Two graphic designers and an admin team to execute alongside you

- Four brands and two very different markets to learn on

- Direct access to the decision-maker — questions get answered the same day, not at next month's meeting

- A role that grows as fast as you do. This starts as a one-person function. What it becomes is up to what you prove

- A business with 70 years behind it that still moves quickly

How to apply

Send your CV and a short note telling us about one campaign you ran end to end: what it cost, what it returned, and what you'd do differently. We'd rather read that than a cover letter.
