The Department for Infrastructure and Transport plays a vital role connecting people and places in South Australia by managing roads, marine and public transport networks across the State, and builds and maintains the State-owned infrastructure that enables the delivery of essential and important government services to our community.

The OpportunityAn opportunity exists for a Senior Data Engineer to provide strategic and technical leadership for data engineering services within Information Services. The role leads development and maintenance of data infrastructure, drives analytics initiatives, and delivers scalable solutions, requiring strong analytical capability and extensive experience across contemporary data and cloud technologies.

About you You are an experienced data professional with strong expertise in data engineering, SQL, Python, and contemporary cloud platforms. You demonstrate the ability to lead complex data initiatives, deliver strategic, customer-focused outcomes, and manage change. You communicate effectively, work with minimal direction, and apply sound judgement to deliver results within timeframes.

Educational Qualifications / Licences

- A Degree or relevant experience in the fields of computer science, software engineering or related discipline is highly desirable.

Special Conditions

- A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
- A Working with Children Check (WWCC)



is required prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, which must be renewed every five years before expiry.
- Some intra / interstate travel, including overnight absences may be required

RemunerationASO6 - $105,747 to $111,854 pa + superannuation.
