About Us:
At Landlinks, we restore, protect and improve natural and urban environments across Melbourne and Victoria. Our teams work across specialist departments including Ecological Restoration, Open Space Maintenance, Urban Forestry, Fire Mitigation and Vegetation Management, and Landscape Construction. Our Ecological Restoration department helps bring degraded ecosystems and native bushland back to health through specialist knowledge, practical field delivery and long-term management. Our depot is based in Dandenong South, with projects delivered across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.
Role Overview:
Due to company growth, we are seeking motivated Ecological Restoration Crew Members to join our hands-on restoration teams. Multiple part-time and full-time positions available. In this role, you will help restore degraded environments into healthy, functioning ecosystems through practical field work including targeted weed control, revegetation, native vegetation protection, habitat works and ongoing site management. Working alongside experienced environmental and restoration specialists, you will contribute to site-specific restoration works and measurable ecological improvement over time.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking ecological restoration and bushland regeneration works across remnant bushland, conservation reserves and biodiversity corridors
- Completing targeted weed control using appropriate methods that protect native vegetation and suit site sensitivity
- Supporting revegetation,
succession planting and native ecosystem restoration using indigenous species suited to site conditions
- Assisting with waterway, riparian zone and habitat protection works, including activities that consider threatened species, breeding seasons and ecological corridors
- Helping identify site issues, weed species, native vegetation health and restoration priorities, and reporting observations clearly to supervisors
- Operating vehicles, hand tools, herbicide equipment and field equipment safely and appropriately in sensitive environmental areas
About You:
You will enjoy practical outdoor work and care about restoring native landscapes, protecting biodiversity and improving environmental outcomes. You will bring a positive attitude, reliability, a strong focus on safety and quality, and a commitment to working carefully in sensitive natural areas. Previous experience in ecological restoration, bushland regeneration, conservation land management, revegetation, weed control, horticulture, landscaping or natural resource management will be highly regarded, but we also welcome applicants who are looking to start or grow their career in ecological restoration.
Essential requirements:
- Driver’s Licence
- Construction Induction Card / White Card
- Working with Children Check
- ACUP – Agricultural Chemical Users Permit or willingness to obtain within the first 3 months of employment
Desirable but not essential:
- Truck licence highly favourable (LR or MR minimum) or willingness to obtain
- First Aid Level 2
- Chainsaw – Crosscut Level 1
- Experience in plant identification, native and invasive species management, bushland regeneration or revegetation programs
- Experience using brush cutters, hand tools, herbicide equipment and field equipment in conservation or restoration settings
- Certificate, Diploma, TAFE or tertiary qualifications in Conservation Land Management, Natural Resource Management, Ecology, Horticulture, Parks and Gardens, Environmental Science or a related field
