An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Nurse Unit Manager – Operating Theatres to join a well-established private healthcare organisation located in the beautiful Southern Highlands region of New South Wales.
This leadership role is responsible for providing strategic and operational management of the Operating Theatre department, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care and exceptional surgical outcomes. You will oversee clinical governance, workforce planning, resource management, and continuous improvement initiatives while fostering a collaborative and supportive team culture.
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, you will lead a dedicated team of nurses and clinical support staff, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimise theatre efficiency, promote best practice standards, and achieve excellence in perioperative care.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have strong perioperative clinical expertise combined with demonstrated leadership experience within an operating theatre environment.
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum five (5) years’ postgraduate experience within perioperative nursing
- Strong clinical background in Anaesthetic Nursing and/or Instrument (Scrub Scout) Nursing
- Proven experience leading and managing nursing teams
- Demonstrated ability to drive operational efficiency and clinical excellence
- Experience managing recruitment, rostering, workforce planning, and performance management
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety frameworks
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills
- Postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Leadership, Management, or Perioperative Nursing highly regarded
- Full Australian working rights required
