Commodity Ag Pty Ltd is a vertically integrated grain handling, storage and export business operating throughout Western Australia's Outstanding Southern region. The Grain, Oilseed, Pulse and Pasture Farm Worker is responsible for assisting in all aspects of grain receival, storage, handling and logistics across the Company's farming, storage and export operations.
The position supports the efficient movement of grain from paddock to export while maintaining high standards of quality assurance, workplace safety, biosecurity and environmental management.
The employee will work across farming properties, grain receival sites, storage facilities and export operations as operational requirements dictate.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Broadacre Farming Operations:
- Undertake general farm labouring duties.
Harvest Operations:
- Transport harvested grain to on-farm storage or receival facilities.
- Monitor grain moisture and quality during harvest.
- Minimise contamination between grain varieties.
- Assist with harvest logistics and truck loading.
Grain Receival and Storage:
- Receive grain from growers and Company farms.
- Sample grain and assist with grading procedures.
- Operate grain receival equipment.
- Load and unload trucks safely.
- Stack and reclaim grain from bunker storage.
- Assist with grain transfers between storage facilities.
- Maintain accurate receival records.
- Monitor grain condition during storage.
- Assist with aeration management.
- Prepare grain storage facilities before harvest.
Grain Handling Equipment - Operate and assist with:
- Conveyors
- Grain augers
- Bucket elevators
- Belt conveyors
- Grain bunkers
- Grain silos
- Telehandlers
- Skid steer loaders
- Forklifts (where licensed)
- Grain vacuums
- Portable grain handling equipment
Machinery Operation - Safely operate agricultural machinery including:
- Telehandlers
- Skid steer loaders
- Utility vehicles
- Mowers and slashers
Grain Export Support - Assist export operations by:
- Preparing export storage facilities.
- Loading export trucks.
- Cleaning storage sheds.
- Assisting with grain movement to port.
- Preparing grain for vessel loading.
- Operating mobile grain handling equipment.
- Maintaining housekeeping around export facilities.
- Assisting with stocktakes and inventory control.
Site Maintenance - Maintain Company assets including:
- Grain bunkers
- Silos
- Sheds
- Fencing
- Roads
- Drainage
- Signage
- General infrastructure
Undertake vegetation control and general grounds maintenance.
Biosecurity and Grain Quality:
- Maintain segregation standards.
- Prevent contamination between grain types.
- Assist with hygiene inspections.
- Support fumigation preparation under supervision.
- Clean equipment between commodities.
- Follow quality assurance procedures.
- Assist with grain sampling and testing.
Workplace Health and Safety:
- Comply with all Work Health and Safety legislation.
- Follow Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
- Report hazards and incidents immediately.
- Participate in safety meetings and training.
- Operate machinery safely.
- Maintain clean work areas.
Environmental Responsibilities:
- Follow environmental management procedures.
- Handle chemicals safely.
- Prevent spills and contamination.
- Dispose of waste correctly.
- Protect waterways and native vegetation.
- Support sustainable farming practices.
Essential Skills:
- 1+ year of experience in a similar role
- Ability to work safely around heavy machinery.
- Ability to perform manual labour.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Reliable attendance.
- Strong attention to detail.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Forklift Licence (LF).
- Telehandler or Front-End Loader experience.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Experience in grain receival or grain storage operations.

Physical Requirements
The position requires the ability to:
- Lift up to 25 kg.

- Operate heavy machinery for extended periods.
- Stand, bend and walk for long periods.
- Work extended hours during harvest and seeding.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time permanent employment.
- Ordinary hours of 38 hours per week.
- Overtime during seeding and harvest.
- Regional travel between Commodity Ag sites, Commodity Ag will be operating 6 sites across the Great Southern
- Work performed on farms, grain receival sites, storage facilities and export terminals.
A salary of $78,000 - $85,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
