Drive Quality in Intensive Care in Princess Alexandra Hospital.

An exciting opportunity for an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to provide clinical leadership, drive quality improvement and help shape safe, evidence-based patient care.

Your new role:

As a Quality Clinical Nurse, you'll play a key role in strengthening clinical standards, quality systems and patient outcomes across the Intensive Care Unit. Working alongside the CNC and NG7 nursing leadership team, you'll combine advanced ICU expertise with quality improvement, education, research and clinical governance to support a culture of excellence.

Provide advanced clinical leadership and expert nursing advice within the ICU.

- Lead and support quality improvement activities, audits, benchmarking and risk minimisation initiatives.
- Analyse quality data, identify trends and support evidence-based improvements to clinical practice.
- Provide education, mentoring, clinical support and role modelling to develop a capable and compassionate nursing team.
- Contribute to clinical research, trials and initiatives that improve patient care and service outcomes.

About you:

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse with advanced intensive care expertise who can combine strong clinical judgement with a passion for quality, education and professional leadership. You'll bring the confidence to influence practice, analyse quality outcomes and work collaboratively to drive meaningful improvements across the ICU.

- Advanced clinical knowledge, skills and experience in intensive care nursing.
- Demonstrated experience in quality improvement, clinical auditing,



data analysis and implementing practice change.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to provide effective clinical leadership, mentoring, education and support to colleagues.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is regarded as one of the leading adult tertiary specialist facilities in Australia. With over 2000 annual admissions,



all major adult specialities are provided except for burns and obstetrics.

The motivated multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, social workers, occupational therapists, and speech pathologists work together to deliver a high standard of holistic patient-centred care. University affiliation, active training programs and internationally recognised medical and nursing research contribute to advancement in intensive care practices and continuing staff development. The ICU endorses the Transition to Support Program– Adult Intensive Care which is a requirement for all new ICU employees without a post graduate qualification in Critical Care. The unit offers a culture of education, learning and support within the multi-disciplinary team.
