We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a dynamic and proactive Senior Safety Business Partner- Third Runway Project to join our Safety team.
The Senior Safety Business Partner - M3R provides dedicated safety leadership and business partnering support to one of APAC's largest infrastructure projects. Working as an embedded member of the M3R project team while maintaining independence as part of the Safety function, the role partners with project leadership to ensure safety risks are proactively identified, managed and governed throughout planning, design and delivery.
The role provides strategic advice, independent assurance and practical support across all phases of the project, embedding APAC's Safety Management System, Safety in Design principles and Active Client model. Success in the role relies on strong influencing capability, commercial awareness and the ability to balance project delivery outcomes with robust safety governance.

Key responsibilities:
The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Safety Leadership: Provide strong, proactive safety leadership across a major infrastructure project, partnering with senior leaders to embed safety into project planning, decision-making and delivery.
- Major Project Experience: Demonstrated experience working in complex, high-risk construction, infrastructure or major capital projects, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
- Risk Management: Expertise in identifying, assessing and managing critical project safety risks, with a focus on ensuring effective controls are implemented, monitored and continuously improved.
- Safety in Design: Ability to embed Safety in Design principles throughout the project lifecycle, working collaboratively with designers, engineers, contractors and operational stakeholders to eliminate or minimise risks at source.
- Contractor Management & Assurance:
Experience overseeing contractor safety performance, including audits, inspections, assurance activities and verification of critical controls, with the ability to identify gaps and drive meaningful improvements.
- Stakeholder Influence: Highly developed communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to provide pragmatic advice, challenge decisions where required and build trusted relationships with senior leaders, project teams and contractors.
The successful candidate will have
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS),
- Significant in a senior OHS role, focused on safety in high-risk construction environments.
- Experience supporting major infrastructure or brownfield construction projects within complex operational environments.
- Accreditation in Root Cause Analysis (e.g., ICAM or TapRoot) - desired.
- Demonstrated expertise in Safety in Design and risk management principles, especially within large-scale or complex construction projects.
- Experience working within client-side governance arrangements on major infrastructure projects.
- Ability to influence senior project leaders without direct authority.
- Strong understanding of Principal Contractor arrangements, client-side governance and Active Client responsibilities.
- Extensive experience in incident management and comprehensive safety reporting.
