POSITION
We have full-time positions available for Banana Farm Workers in Boogan QLD 4871.
SKILLS
Your role requires you to have at least 12 months of relevant work experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Banana Farm Worker, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of cultivation, harvesting, and post-harvest activities to support the production of high-quality bananas.
POSITION DUTIES
- Perform general banana cultivation, crop maintenance and harvesting duties throughout the growing cycle.
- Harvest, hang, de-hand, wash, grade, sort and pack bananas in accordance with quality standards.
- Bag bunches and carry out de-suckering, de-leafing, stringing and bell injection activities.
- Operate farm machinery and equipment for pruning, weeding, slashing, mulching, fertilising and other cultivation tasks.
- Conduct pre-start equipment checks and report faults or maintenance requirements.
- Clean, maintain and safely operate farm tools, machinery and equipment.
- Monitor, maintain and repair irrigation systems, including lines and sprinklers.
- Safely handle and apply agricultural chemicals while complying with WHS, biosecurity and farm procedures.
- Assist with additional farming activities and general duties as required to support the protected and efficient operation of the banana farm.
SALARY
The position will attract a salary between $70 000 to $80 000 per annum.
