The Wurundjeri Woi-wurruing Cultural Heritage Corporation (Wurundjeri Corporation) is a Registered Aboriginal Party appointed under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006. The Corporation holds statutory responsibilities for the protection and management of Aboriginal cultural heritage and Aboriginal intangible heritage on Wurundjeri Country. Additional functions include environmental land management, cross cultural education, traditional welcome to country and smoking ceremonies, research, and cultural consultations.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Media and Communications Unit supports the function and mission of Wurundjeri Corporation in promoting, preserving, and protecting Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Culture, Country, and cultural heritage. This is achieved through elevating Wurundjeri people and voices into the public realm, recording stories, correcting public records, and engaging the public in discourse that is led by and centres Wurundjeri people and histories. Supporting community members in these activities is a high priority.
ABOUT YOU
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a media and communications role, with proven expertise in media, social media, and content management.
- Strong content writing and editing skills for various audiences.
- Experience executing social media strategies and campaigns.
- Knowledge or experience working with First Nations Peoples and cultural contexts.
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
