Client Success & Account Manager

Permanent full-time

- Fully remote (Australia) • $60K–$84K package, with a $110K–$120K management path

Can you sell, solve, and run your own patch without being managed?

You don't need a marketing degree for this one. You do need to be the kind of person who picks up the phone, gets to the bottom of what a client is actually worried about, and doesn't stop until it's sorted.

We're the digital marketing arm of Industry Compete, running Google and Meta ad campaigns for small and medium businesses across trades, health, professional services and more. Our clients are good people and our delivery team is sharp. What we need is the person in the middle who owns those relationships outright — keeps clients confident, keeps work moving, and grows the accounts they look after.

This is not a hands-on-keyboard marketing role. You won't be building campaigns or writing ad copy. You'll be the person our clients trust: you onboard them, explain what's happening in plain English, dig into what they actually need, and make sure our team delivers it.

Think of it this way: we don't want you to sound like an external agency reporting in. We want clients to feel like they've hired a person who works in their business and happens to sit on our team.

What you'll actually be doing

· Onboarding current clients fast. We aim to get every new account live within one week. You'll run the kickoff conversations, gather what we need, set expectations and keep the momentum.

· Owning the relationship. Lots of calls, messages and emails. Clients come to you with questions, ideas, concerns and the occasional “is this working?” — and you handle it. Not escalate it. Handle it.

· Getting to the real problem. A client saying “the leads are rubbish” usually means something more specific. Your job is to ask the right questions, work out what's genuinely going on, and come back with a solution — not a status update.

· Translating in both directions. You'll explain campaign performance in plain English so a builder or a dentist knows exactly what it means for their business, and you'll turn what they want into clear requirements our delivery team can act on. (We'll teach you everything you need to know about how the campaigns work.)

· Running regular check-ins. Weekly through a client's first couple of weeks, then fortnightly check-ins and a monthly review call. You keep relationships warm and catch issues before they become problems.

· Recording short performance update videos. Quick screen-recorded walkthroughs (Loom-style) showing clients how their account is tracking.

Being comfortable narrating a screen recording is a plus.

· Project-managing the back-and-forth. A big part of the job. Take what a client wants, brief it clearly to delivery and development, track progress, bring updates back, gather feedback, loop it round again until it's right.

· Growing your accounts. Happy clients buy more and stay longer. You'll spot where a client could get more out of us, have that conversation, and bring it in. There's a clear commercial upside for you in doing this well (see compensation below).

· Keeping nothing from falling through the cracks. You're the person who remembers what was promised, follows up, and makes sure it lands.

Who we're looking for

You'll do well here if you:

· Have sold something before. Phone sales, retail, real estate, recruitment, hospitality upselling, B2B, account growth — we're not fussy about the industry. We care that you're comfortable asking for the business and having a commercial conversation without it feeling awkward.

· Work independently. Fully remote means nobody is standing over you. You plan your day, prioritise your accounts, and get through your list without being chased.

· Solve problems rather than pass them on. When something's broken or a client's unhappy, your instinct is to work out the fix, not to forward the email.

· Have a genuine can-do attitude. Not slogan can-do — the practical kind. “I don't know, but I'll find out and come back to you by Thursday.”

· Genuinely enjoy talking to people — phone, video, chat — and build trust quickly.

· Are organised and on top of detail. You'll juggle 20–30 accounts and dozens of moving tasks without losing track.

· Like owning an outcome. You drive things to a result rather than reporting on why they've stalled.

· Are proactive. You reach out before clients have to chase you.

· Are confident on camera, or willing to get there.

Nice to have, but absolutely not required

· Experience with Google Ads or Meta (Facebook/Instagram) advertising

· Background in account management, customer success, client services or sales

· Exposure to CRMs or project management tools

If you've never touched a marketing campaign in your life but you're commercially sharp,

brilliant with people and organised — we want to hear from you. We will train you on the marketing side. This role is about relationships, commercial instinct and follow-through first; marketing knowledge second.

People who've come from sales, account management, customer success, client services, recruitment, hospitality management or real estate often suit this perfectly.

Salary & compensation

We've built the pay structure so that as you take on more, you earn more — and you can see exactly what that looks like before you apply. No vague “reviewed annually” promises.

Stage

Package (incl. super)

Starting salary

$60,000 per annum

Managing 25 client accounts

$72,000 per annum

Managing 30 client accounts

$84,000 per annum

Management position (available from 12 months)

$110,000 – $120,000 per annum

What this actually means:

· A clear, published pay ladder. Your salary steps up as your book of accounts grows — 25 accounts takes you to $72K, 30 accounts takes you to $84K. It's a defined number tied to a defined milestone, not a negotiation you have to fight for.

· A 40% increase available inside your first year. Going from starting salary to a 30-account book is a $24,000 jump. How fast you get there is largely down to you.

· Genuine management pathway from 12 months. Management positions are open from the 12-month mark and pay $110K–$120K. We're growing, we promote from within, and we'd rather build leaders out of people who already know our clients than hire them in.

· Permanent full-time, not casual or contract. Salaried, with super, paid annual leave and personal leave, and the security of a permanent role.

· You're not paying to work from home. Fully remote, so no commute, no parking, no city lunch prices — worth a few thousand a year in real terms.

Why join Industry Compete

· Permanent full-time, Monday to Friday

· Fully remote — work from home, anywhere in Australia

· Transparent pay progression tied to milestones you control

· Real management opportunities from 12 months

· Full training on the marketing side — you'll build real, in-demand skills

· A genuinely friendly, supportive team that backs you

· Real ownership of your client relationships

Open to Australian citizens and permanent residents only.

How to apply

Hit apply and send through your resume, along with a few lines on:

1. A time you took a customer or client from frustrated to happy — what you actually did.

2. Something you've sold, or a commercial conversation you're proud of.

A quick phone or video chat will be the first step — because, well, that's the job.
