Responsibilities

Currently we are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Dietitian to join our multidisciplinary mental health team. In this pivotal role, you will lead and deliver high-quality nutrition care for individuals experiencing complex mental health conditions, supporting recovery through evidence-based dietary interventions. You will work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and allied health professionals to develop and implement holistic care plans that address the physical and mental wellbeing of consumers.

The successful applicant shall practice in accordance with the Dietitians Australia National Competency Standards for entry-level dietitians and SMHS policies and guidelines.



As part of the multi-disciplinary team, provides Dietetic services to Mental Health patients using advanced Dietetic clinical practice skills. Supports the Head of Department – Dietetics in providing supervision to the P1 Dietetic staff in the unit/clinical area, including allocating clinical duties and in managing performance. Acts at a specialised level of dietetic clinical consultant/resource to Dietitians and other health professionals. The Senior Dietitian Plans, implements and evaluates patient safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).

WA Health policies require applicants to undertake criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. Referees may also be asked to comment on an applicant’s integrity and past demonstration of ethical behaviour.
