About the opportunity

- Participate in the delivery of patient- and family-centred care within a safe environment
- Ensure provision of care is within current Mercy Public Hospital policies and procedures
- As the Registered Nurse/Midwife, provide:
- Ongoing patient assessment
- Ongoing patient monitoring and consultation
- Involve patient and family in care planning and goal setting
- Ensure appropriate referrals to other members of the interdisciplinary team as necessary
- Education to the mother and family members
- Accountable for your own nursing/midwifery practice within AHPRA guidelines
- Ensure mandatory and clinical competencies appropriate for your area of work are completed within designated timeframe

- Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve
- A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management
- The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team setting
- A minimum of 2 years experience in Australia as a midwife
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

- A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check
- Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders
