Reporting to the Executive Team, the Finance Manager will oversee all financial operations, compliance and reporting across the business. You will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, strengthening internal controls and supporting strategic decision‑making across multiple construction and development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow oversight and monthly reporting.
- Prepare and manage consolidated financial statements across multiple entities and project divisions.
- Maintain accurate project cost tracking and provide financial insights to support operational and commercial decisions.
- Manage all tax compliance obligations, including GST, PAYG, FBT, land tax and other statutory requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for communication with the ATO, ensuring timely responses and compliance.
- Oversee intercompany reconciliations and group reporting requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, external auditors, consultants and senior leadership.
- Drive process improvements and strengthen financial systems and controls across the organisation.
Experience & Skills
- 7–10 years’ experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or management position.
- Experience within construction, property development, civil infrastructure, or related industries is strongly preferred.
- Proven capability in consolidation reporting and managing multi‑entity structures.
- Robust understanding of Australian tax legislation and experience communicating with the ATO.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing and developing finance teams.
- High level of analytical capability and attention to detail.
- Must be an Australian Citizen due to regulatory and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline (mandatory).
- CPA or CA qualification
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax frameworks.
- Advanced proficiency in financial systems and ERP platforms commonly used in construction.
