About the Role
We are currently seeking experienced NACE Level 2 Coating Inspectors & Coatings Supervisors for immediate and upcoming mobilisation. These roles involve overseeing surface preparation and industrial coating operations to ensure compliance with project specifications, client standards, and industry best practices across FIFO operations.
Key Responsibilities
NACE2
- Inspection of surface preparation including abrasive blasting, power tool cleaning, and profile measurement
- Monitoring and documenting the application of protective coating systems in accordance with project specifications
- Conducting wet and dry film thickness checks, adhesion tests, and holiday detection
- Reviewing and maintaining inspection test plans (ITPs), daily inspection reports, and non-conformance reports (NCRs)
- Verifying environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point) prior to and during coating application
- Liaising with client representatives, project engineers, and blasting/painting crews to resolve quality issues
- Ensuring all work meets relevant Australian Standards,
project specifications, and safety requirements
S26 Coatings Supervisor
- Demonstrated experience in Coatings Supervision & Leadership skills to demonstrate how MAINTAIN performs
- 5+ years Mining experience and 10+ years Painting experience
- Certificate III in Painting/Surface Finishing
- Liaising with client representatives, project engineers, and blasting/painting crews to resolve quality & production requirements
- Ensuring all work meets relevant Australian Standards, project specifications, and safety requirements
Requirements
- Currently living in Perth, Western Australia
- NACE Coating Inspector AMPP CIP Level 2 certification (current and valid)
- Supervisors must hold S26 DMIRS Examination Certificate
- Previous Australian experience in industrial coating inspection, preferably in oil & gas, mining, or heavy industry
- Proficiency in the use of inspection instrumentation
- Sound knowledge of relevant standards (AS/NZS, SSPC, NACE/AMPP)
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Solid commitment to safety, documentation accuracy, and quality outcomes
