South Melbourne

Videographer / Video Editor - Melbourne

$78,000 – $88,000 + super | Melbourne, hybrid | Tableside

Tableside is a hospitality-only marketing agency. Every account on our books is a venue, restaurant, bar, or hospitality group. No fashion brands, no SaaS, no property developers. Just operators.

We're hiring a Videographer / Video Editor to shoot and cut content across our Melbourne roster. You'll work alongside Nathan, our in-house editor, and you'll be the person our venues see week in, week out.

Why this role, right now

Tableside has spent the last four years getting good at one thing: marketing for hospitality. We've grown to a team of 8 and a roster of 24 venues across Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Adelaide, and we're now at the point where we're scaling properly.

We've just made a call that shapes this role directly. We've moved to video-only production across every account. No more photography. Video is the entire visual output now, which means the person in this seat isn't producing a side deliverable. You are the visual product our clients pay for.

Over the next two years, we're opening pods in Sydney and Perth, building toward a 50-client roster, and developing a hospitality SaaS platform alongside the agency. The 10-year goal is to be the agency every serious operator in the country wants to work with, with a flagship industry event and a tech platform that changes how venues run.

This role isn't a seat in an established machine. You're joining while we're still building it. The person who takes this and runs with it has a path to leading production as we grow, building out a shooting team under them, or moving across to Sydney or Perth when we open up. We promote from within wherever we can.

If you're looking for a job, this isn't it. If you want the next 5 to 10 years of your career to mean something, keep reading.

What the role actually is

You shoot, and you cut. Both matter equally.

Most days you're on the road, in venues across Melbourne. Food and drink, service, atmosphere, chefs and owners on camera, the moments between. Some shoots are fast and unlit during service. Others are planned properly. You'll read the difference and adapt.

Then you cut your own work. You'll share the edit load with Nathan and how that splits will depend on where your strengths sit. Expect a real mix of shoot days and edit days rather than being pigeonholed into one.

You'll work against our three-gate campaign system: Concept Card, Creative Direction Brief, Execution Plan. Strategy lives with our directors. You take a locked concept and make it real.

Day to day:

Shooting across a portfolio of venues, solo, with a vehicle and full kit provided.

Cutting for social first. Hooks that stop a thumb, pacing that holds, sound that carries.

Directing people who aren't performers. Chefs mid-service, owners who hate cameras, floor staff who've never been filmed.

Managing your own footage properly. Logged, backed up, findable.

Keeping quality consistent across fifteen different venues with fifteen different personalities.

Who you are

At least three years shooting and editing professionally, ideally with food, hospitality or lifestyle work in your reel. You're strong at both. Most people are positive at one and passable at the other, and we're specifically not looking for that.

You understand venue rhythms. Why a Tuesday is different from a Saturday. Why the dish shot under fluorescent kitchen lights is never going out. Why you don't ask the head chef for anything at 7pm.

You can take feedback from someone who has thirty seconds before service, and you can hold a client who wants something that won't work.

You're fast and clean in a timeline. Premiere or Resolve, we're not precious about which.

You're ambitious. You want to be better in 12 months than you are today.

Full, clean driver's licence. We provide the vehicle.
