About us
Established in 2013, Rice Paper Scissors is one of Melbourne’s leading modern South East Asian restaurants, operating three vibrant venues and planning for further expansion. We champion shared dining, bold flavours, and customer-focused service. The kind that keeps people coming back for more.
What you’ll be selling
Rice Paper Scissors (Fitzroy)
Our elevated function space above the bustling Fitzroy restaurant gives guests a private experience while still soaking up the energy of the venue below. Exclusive, yet connected - the perfect spot for memorable events.
Aunty Kim’s (Collingwood)
Located just down the road, our premium events space is the go-to for weddings, corporate gatherings, and milestone celebrations - every booking is tailored and unforgettable.
We’re looking for someone who thrives in the middle of it all - driving sales, converting enquiries, building relationships, and bringing these spaces to life through unforgettable events.
Why this role rocks:
- Flexible working hours + autonomy to run your own roster (yes, really)
- Tiered bonus structure - because hitting targets should feel good
- Generous staff discounts across all venues (feed your friends, impress your family)
- Staff meals? Of course - food is at the heart of everything we do, and you’ll need fuel to bring our events to life
- Your ideas actually matter - we want you to shake things up
- No public holiday shifts (Christmas + NYD = yours)
- Clear progression pathways + structured management training
Your role:
For those who love connection, sales and making things happen, this isn’t a sit-back-and-reply-to-emails role. It’s a multi-faceted event sales position blending lead management, client engagement, sales, administration, and event coordination.
You’ll be:
- Owning your sales targets and striving to exceed them
- Managing event enquiries from first contact through to confirmed booking
- Converting leads into bookings and maximising revenue through upselling and package recommendations
- Building robust relationships with clients and turning enquiries into repeat business and referrals
- Managing your events from first enquiry through to the final cheers on the night
- Guiding couples through weddings, corporates through big events, and everyone else through a damn good time
- Working closely with venue teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure every event is set up for success
- Bringing fresh ideas to drive revenue, improve the client experience, and keep things exciting
Minimum 1 - 2 years of event sales experience required.
Expect a thorough interview process and reference checks. All applicants will receive a prompt reply, so hit apply before you miss your chance!
