JS Careers is currently mandated to assist a leading boutique insurance firm in Australia to source a senior compliance professional.

This position will provide technical advice in relation to all regulatory obligations that apply to the business. It is a line two role reporting into the General Counsel and is part of a business experiencing significant growth.

Base Pay Range

A$150,000.00 / yr - A$190,000.00 / yr

Key Responsibilities

- Ensuring that the business is aware of their obligations and has evaluated their compliance risks;
- Identify and evaluate compliance obligations with assistance from the business;
- Identify and providing guidance and advice to the business on continual improvement opportunities for compliance policies, procedures and processes;
- Partner with the business to identify and implement compliance policies, procedures and processes in a way that is integrated and (where possible) adds value to the overall business objectives and strategy for the organization;
- Promote a culture of compliance and compliant conduct;




- Assess and analyse the impact of regulatory and legal obligations on the business and partnering with the business to implement the necessary policies, processes and procedures to ensure ongoing and enduring compliance with these obligations;
- Keep the business informed of regulatory changes and partner with the business directly or through regulatory change projects to ensure the successful delivery of changes which impact compliance;

Qualifications

- Minimum of 5 years of compliance experience within an insurance provider, bank or other financial services firm;
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in commerce, law, accounting or other discipline;
- Solid understanding of the full suite of compliance obligations that apply within the Australian insurance sector;
- Excellent communication and influencing skills;
- An ability to communicate complex messages to a broad range of business stakeholders.
