Key responsibilities
- Provide specialist GIS, cartographic and spatial information advice to clients and management relating to the delivery of transport infrastructure.
- Acquire process, interpret, present, maintain and validate geospatial information and databases.
- Assemble, analyse, interpret, and report on spatial data from appropriate systems, providing information through high quality mapping products or reports as required by the client.
- Maintain and/or acquire spatial datasets for mapping and analytical purposes.
- Process raw digital spatial data into GIS and CAD formats.
- Operate departmental Geographic Information System (GIS) software and support departmental users of GIS technology.
- Enhance knowledge of geospatial technologies and provide input to the strategic direction GIS in the department.
- Provide specialist mapping and GIS services.
- Deliver geospatial projects, products and services to meet departmental requirements.
- Enhance knowledge of departmental policies, standards and procedures.
- Represent the region, as required, at meetings and forums dealing with spatial science related matters.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions
- A degree in spatial science from a tertiary institution or an acceptable equivalent.
- A 'C' class driver's Licence.

- Apply an understanding of GIS and technology concepts and principles.




- Applies an understanding of data use standards, systems, processes, protocols and models to manage and disseminate geospatial data.
- Builds and sustains relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of customerfocused outcomes.

- Uses data and leverages technology to achieve greater efficiencies.
