MacKellar is growing its partnership with Aeris Resources on a developing mining project near Nyngan, NSW, and we’re looking for experienced Excavator Operators to join our production team.

About the Role

As an Excavator Operator, you’ll be responsible for safely and efficiently operating large-scale mining excavators and supporting daily production targets.

You’ll work closely with Supervisors and the wider production team to maximise productivity while maintaining a strong focus on safe operating practices, equipment care and site standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Operating 120t+ Excavators and D9+ Dozers in a production mining environment




- Loading haul trucks safely and efficiently
- Completing pre-start inspections and routine equipment checks
- Identifying and reporting equipment faults or maintenance requirements
- Working closely with Supervisors, Dispatch and production crews to achieve daily targets
- Following mine plans, operational procedures and site requirements
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and equipment care
- Operating equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with site standards

What You’ll Bring

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

- Demonstrated experience operating 120t+ Excavators in a production mining environment
- Experience operating D9+ Dozers
- Current RII competencies and/or verifiable operating history
- Solid understanding of safe excavation and truck loading practices
- A strong commitment to safety and risk management
- Reliable attendance and a positive, can-do attitude
- Ability to work effectively as part of a production team
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced mining environment
- Ability to meet all site access and pre-employment requirements
