Executive Chef – Premium Wedding & Events Venue
We are a premium wedding and events venue located on the Central Coast of NSW, specialising in beautifully executed weddings, private celebrations and high-end events.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Executive Chef to take full ownership of our kitchen and food operations.
This is an opportunity for a chef who enjoys creative autonomy, leadership and responsibility and wants to play an integral role within an established, premium events business.
About the Role
As Executive Chef, you will be responsible for the complete management of our kitchen operations, from menu development and food costing through to ordering, preparation, service and kitchen staffing.
You will work closely with our events team to ensure every event is planned and executed to an exceptionally high standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating and developing seasonal, contemporary menus suited to weddings, private events and functions
- Managing food costing, purchasing, ordering and stock control
- Managing and coordinating kitchen staff as required
- Planning kitchen operations and staffing requirements around event schedules
- Ensuring menus, dietary requirements and event-specific requests are accurately planned and executed
- Maintaining exceptional standards of food quality, presentation and consistency
- Managing kitchen systems, organisation, cleanliness and food safety
- Working from event run sheets and taking full ownership of the kitchen requirements and execution for each event
- Proactively identifying issues, developing solutions and making decisions without requiring constant direction
- Working collaboratively with the venue and events team to deliver a seamless experience for our couples and guests
About You
We are looking for an experienced chef who is confident working autonomously and thrives in a small,
collaborative team environment.
You will ideally have:
- 3–5+ years' experience in a senior chef, kitchen management or equivalent role
- Experience in fine dining, premium events, weddings, hotels or high-end functions
- Certificate IV in Kitchen Management
- Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) Certification
- Solid menu development and food costing skills
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong leadership and kitchen management capabilities
- A high level of attention to detail and pride in presentation
- The ability to confidently manage multiple events and changing requirements
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team
Most importantly, you will be someone who takes ownership. We are looking for a chef who can be provided with an event schedule and run sheet and confidently take responsibility for determining what needs to happen in the kitchen, planning accordingly and ensuring it is executed to a high standard.
The Opportunity
You will have genuine creative control over our menus and kitchen operations, working within a quality commercial kitchen and an established premium venue.
The role typically operates Tuesday to Saturday, with flexibility during quieter periods. While events can require some evening work, the role generally offers a significantly more lifestyle-friendly schedule than traditional restaurant environments, with only occasional finishes around 9pm.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious chef who wants the freedom to bring their ideas to the table, build on an established offering and take genuine ownership of a venue's food operation.
Immediate start available.
If you are an experienced chef looking for a role where your expertise, initiative and creativity are genuinely valued, we would love to hear from you.
