Responsibilities

- Investigate, troubleshoot, resolve and take ownership of customer faults and queries through to resolution within appropriate SLAs and service measures.
- Perform troubleshooting across LAN, WAN and Service Provider network environments.
- Ensure fault tickets are accurately updated with troubleshooting activities, outcomes and resolutions.
- Deliver high-quality customer outcomes by following relevant processes and procedures.
- Create, review and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Manage internal and external escalations, including incidents involving third-party vendors and service providers.
- Assist with root cause analysis and identify recurring problem and incident trends.
- Research, analyse and design technical solutions to meet project and customer requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and support other members of the engineering team.
- Assist with project planning, work plan development, resource coordination and project delivery.

Who are you

- Five or more years of experience in network engineering within telecommunications, Service Provider or large enterprise environments.
- Strong experience in the design, implementation, operation and support of IP network infrastructure.
- Experience with Service Provider routing, ISP networks, IP transport, backbone and internet gateway environments.
- Demonstrated experience delivering network infrastructure upgrades, migrations and implementation projects.




- Robust troubleshooting, incident management and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Experience preparing technical designs, migration plans, operational procedures and handover documentation.
- Ability to work effectively with customers, vendors, technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Experience providing technical leadership or mentoring network engineering teams.

Technical Skills

- Service Provider Routing: BGP, OSPF, IP/MPLS, route filtering, route policies, peering and internet transit.
- Network Infrastructure: Cisco ASR routers, Cisco switches and routers, Juniper routers and enterprise network infrastructure.
- ISP and IP Transport: Core networks, backbone, backhaul, metro aggregation, leased lines and international gateway connectivity.
- Security and Firewalls: Check Point, Cisco ASA, VPN/IPsec, NAT/PAT and network security systems.
- Cloud and Data Centre Connectivity: Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud, Equinix, Megaport and cloud interconnectivity.
- Technical Documentation: HLD, LLD, network migration plans, implementation procedures and operational handover documentation.

Desired Certification

- CCNA or higher-level Cisco certification.
- CCNP or CCIE certification would be advantageous.
- Check Point certification would be advantageous.
