Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical faults in vehicle engines, driveline systems, and associated components using appropriate diagnostic procedures and equipment.
- Remove, dismantle, and inspect engines, mechanical assemblies, and vehicle components to determine the extent and cause of faults or wear.
- Assess the condition of mechanical components and repair, refurbish, or replace parts that are damaged, worn, or no longer fit for service.
- Carry out routine and preventative vehicle maintenance, including engine servicing, lubrication, fluid replacement, filter changes, and tune-up procedures.
- Refit and assemble repaired or replaced components and ensure all parts are correctly installed and securely fitted.
- Adjust, calibrate, and set mechanical systems and components to manufacturer specifications to achieve safe and efficient vehicle operation.
- Use electronic diagnostic equipment and computer-based testing systems to identify faults and verify the operating condition of vehicle systems and components.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and assess roadworthiness in accordance with applicable safety and regulatory requirements, including the completion of roadworthiness documentation where authorised.
- Evaluate repair requirements and prepare estimates for labour, parts, materials, and expected completion times.
- Repair and replace defective mechanical, electrical,
and associated vehicle components as required to restore vehicles to secure operating condition.
- Perform post-repair road tests and functional checks to confirm that identified faults have been rectified and that the vehicle performs correctly.
- Complete scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and workplace procedures.
- Record completed repairs, servicing activities, diagnostic findings, and replacement components in vehicle service and maintenance records.
- Install, replace, and correctly fit approved vehicle accessories and additional components while ensuring proper operation and secure installation.
- Monitor and maintain accurate records of spare parts, including stock levels, usage, and availability, to support workshop repair and servicing activities.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures, manufacturer specifications, and relevant automotive repair standards when performing diagnostic, repair, and maintenance work.
Pay: $76,000.00 – $81,000.00 per year

Education:
- Certificate I - IV (Preferred)
Experience:
- Mechanic: 2 years (Preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Full Driver Licence (Preferred)
