Summit Tutoring is looking for an enthusiastic and academically driven year 7-12 English Tutor to join our team.

We are seeking someone who has a genuine passion for English Literature and the Western literary canon, and who enjoys sharing that passion with students.

About the Role

As an English Tutor with Summit Tutoring, you will work with students to develop their:

- English literature and textual analysis skills
- Essay writing and argumentation
- Critical thinking and interpretation
- Knowledge and appreciation of classic and contemporary literature
- Confidence in expressing sophisticated ideas

You may work with texts ranging from Shakespeare and the Greek classics to Austen, Dickens, Orwell, Tolkien and other major works of the Western literary tradition.

About You

The ideal candidate will:

- Be currently studying a Teaching degree, Master's degree, or degree in English Literature.
- Have a solid background and knowledge in NSW highschool Shakespearean texts
- Have a strong academic background in English and Literature
- Have a genuine passion for English Literature and Western Classics




- Be an excellent communicator and writer
- Be enthusiastic, patient and engaging with students
- Have the ability to explain complex literary ideas clearly
- Take pride in helping students achieve their academic potential

Previous tutoring or teaching experience is highly regarded, but we are also interested in exceptional university students with a strong academic record and a genuine passion for literature.

Pay

$50 per hour
