Queensland's passenger rail network is undergoing significant transformation, with major infrastructure investments helping meet the needs of a growing population and supporting the long-term future of transport across the state. As a Temp Project Officer within the Logan to Gold Coast Faster Rail Project, you will contribute to work that supports some of Queensland's most significant rail projects and helps deliver better transport outcomes for communities.
This role offers the opportunity to be part of the Rail Infrastructure Delivery Office in Brisbane's CBD, a team responsible for delivering a growing program of major rail initiatives that will improve connectivity, enhance customer experiences and support Queensland Government priorities. The office is leading projects of strategic importance, including investments that form part of Queensland's preparation for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
As a Temp Project Officer, your contribution will help project teams operate effectively and maintain momentum across a complex and high-profile program of work. By providing trusted administrative, coordination and business support, you will help ensure information is managed accurately, stakeholders remain informed and project activities continue to progress efficiently. Your work will support decisionmaking, strengthen collaboration and contribute to the successful delivery of project objectives.
You will thrive in an environment where initiative, organisation and attention to detail are highly valued.
The role provides exposure to a broad range of project and business activities, offering opportunities to work closely with project professionals, leaders and stakeholders while developing your skills across administration, coordination, process improvement and business support.
We are looking for someone who enjoys building productive working relationships, takes pride in delivering quality work and can confidently manage competing priorities. Robust communication skills, sound judgement, professionalism and a proactive approach will help you succeed. If you enjoy identifying more efficient ways of working, supporting others to achieve outcomes and contributing to a positive team culture, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to make an impact.
Joining the Department of Transport and Main Roads means becoming part of an organisation committed to connected, sustainable and thriving communities. You will work within an inclusive and supportive setting that values diverse perspectives, encourages professional growth and recognises the important role every employee plays in delivering outcomes for Queenslanders.
This temporary full-time opportunity is available until 30 June 2029 and is ideal for a capable professional seeking to contribute to meaningful infrastructure delivery while building valuable experience within a major public sector project environment.
Applications will remain current for 12 months.
