About the Role
Care Fast Group is seeking experienced and compassionate Disability Support Workers to provide high-quality, person-centred support to a Male Participant living in a High Physical Support SDA environment in Frankston.
This role is suited to Support Workers who have experience supporting participants with complex physical disabilities and are confident providing high-intensity personal care while promoting independence, dignity, and choice.
The participant values respectful communication, maintaining independence, staying connected with family and community, and receiving support that allows him to continue engaging in meaningful activities.
About the Participant
The participant has a spinal cord injury resulting in significant physical support needs, including reduced mobility, impaired upper limb function, and requiring assistance with transfers and daily living activities.
Support Responsibilities:
- High Physical Support needs within an SDA setting
- Personal care including showering, grooming, dressing and skin checks
- Hoist transfers and manual handling support
- Pressure care and repositioning routines
- Catheter support and bladder care routines
- Bowel care support
- Medication assistance
- Meal preparation and household tasks
- Community access and appointments
- Overnight support including repositioning, pressure care and responding to support needs
Available Shifts
Monday:
7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Tuesday:
9:00 PM – 10:00 AM (Sleepover Shift)
Wednesday:
7:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Friday – Sunday:
Morning Shifts: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Additional Sleepover Shifts:
Wednesday & Saturday
10:00 PM – 11:00 AM
Looking for
We are looking for Support Workers who are:
- Experienced in High Physical Support / Complex Care environments
- Confident supporting participants with spinal cord injuries
- Skilled in manual handling and hoist transfers
- Comfortable supporting personal care routines
- Reliable, respectful and committed to person-centred practice
- Able to follow clinical support plans and safety procedures
- Strong communicators who respect participant choice and control
The participant has expressed a preference for Australian-born Support Workers (male or female) who understand his communication style, lifestyle preferences and support expectations.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent
- Previous disability support experience (complex care experience preferred)
- Manual Handling Training
- Medication Competency
- First Aid & CPR Certificate
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Ability to complete required training specific to spinal cord injury support
