Pindara Private Hospital is an acute medical/surgical and maternity hospital serving the northern end of the Gold Coast. The Hospital is serviced by 16 onsite operating theatres, a cardiac catheterisation lab, 2 dedicated endoscopy suites, a 9 bed ICU and a 5 Bed CCU; five luxurious delivery suites, 25 maternity beds and a 16-cot special care nursery, a specialised 13 bed paediatrics ward; as well as modern ward accommodation for medical and surgical patients.
Job Description
Pindara Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Day of Surgery (DOSA) and Second Stage Recover (SSR) Coordinator to join our team. This is a permanent, full time opportunity.
About the Role
The DOSA and SSR Coordinator will be an experienced Registered Nurse that will deliver all facets of care to facilitate the efficient operation across the perioperative department at Pindara Private Hospital. This role is to lead and coordinate services across Day of Surgery Admission and Second Stage Recovery, ensuring timely, safe, and people centered perioperative care.
The role will optimise patient’s functional readiness pre-operatively and provide safe transition of post-anesthesia discharge to ward or home. Liaise closely with surgeons (VMO), anaesthetics, nursing, surgical teams and hospital bed management to prevent avoidable delays and optimise patient flow. The role will provide expert clinical leadership, improve patient flow across all sixteen operating theatres, strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration, enhance patient outcomes,
and support strategic service objectives while ensuring efficient utilisation of healthcare resources.
You will provide senior clinical decision-making and operational leadership within a fast-paced department working with flexibility across both DOSA and SSR to positively lead a culture of engagement, problem solving and team diversity.
About You
- Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Advanced Clinical Practice in a high acuity setting with at least 5yrs senior perioperative or similar experience.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership and change management skills
- Demonstrated ability to motivate a team and grow a positive culture
- Ability to plan and achieve clinical learning outcomes for individual and in a team environment
- Knowledge and involvement in the Continuous Improvement Process
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Experience establishing DOSA/Recovery OT services or flow
initiatives (desirable)
- Post graduate studies in a clinical specialty or working towards same (desirable)
- Sound Computer skills in MS Office programs including Excel (desirable)
Remuneration
On offer is a base hourly rate ranging from $62.29 - $67.02 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (QLD RN/Midwife Level 3 gr1-gr4)
