Looking for a hands-on role where you can learn a real specialist trade?

Capital Solid Surface is looking for a Trades Assistant to join our team in Queanbeyan.

We manufacture and install solid surface products for commercial, healthcare, government and residential projects across the ACT and NSW. Our work is varied, custom and hands-on - and we're looking for someone practical, reliable and keen to learn.

You don't need solid surface experience. We'll teach you.

If you've worked in construction, manufacturing, a workshop, labouring or another hands-on role, that's great - but we're much more interested in finding someone with a good work ethic, practical ability and the right attitude.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting with the fabrication of solid surface products
- Cutting, shaping, sanding, polishing and finishing
- Learning solid surface joining and fabrication techniques
- Using hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery
- Assisting with CNC production and material preparation
- Helping with thermoforming and custom fabrication
- Assisting with site installations
- Reading measurements, drawings and job information
- Handling materials and finished products
- Keeping the workshop organised, safe and productive

As your skills develop, you'll take on more fabrication work and greater responsibility.

What we're looking for

You don't need to know solid surface already. What matters to us is that you:

- Are practical and comfortable working with your hands
- Are reliable and turn up when you're supposed to
- Can follow instructions and pay attention to detail
- Take pride in doing a job properly
- Are willing to learn
- Can work well as part of a team
- Are physically capable of hands-on workshop and installation work




- Have a current driver's licence

Previous workshop, manufacturing, construction, labouring or Trades Assistant experience is highly regarded but not essential.

A White Card and relevant safety training are also desirable. If you're otherwise the right person and don't currently hold everything required, talk to us.
