- Reportable conduct investigations, built the right way from day one
- Full-time hybrid opportunity with monthly RDO
- Based in Brisbane, versatile across our QLD offices
We're building a new layer of quality assurance into how Kanda handles reportable conduct investigations, and this role sits right at the centre of it. You won't be maintaining a system someone else designed — you'll be setting the standard for what "investigation-ready" means here.
This is a senior, quality-assurance role rather than a people-management one. You'll sit above the Safeguarding and Reporting Officer function, reviewing their documentation and freeing our Safeguarding & Reporting Manager to focus on leading investigations personally, rather than documenting them.
What you'll be doing
- Collating evidence and preparing case files for reportable conduct investigations, to a standard that holds up under regulator review
- Drafting written outcome reports for submission to the Department of Children, Seniors and Disability Services (DCSSDS)
- Keeping a real-time register of every active investigation, its status and its outcome, with zero backlog
- Coordinating Statements of Allegation and investigation outcome handovers
- Supporting Priority 1 SIRS documentation for Aged Care serious incident reporting
- Quality-checking documentation from the Safeguarding and Reporting Officer team, and feeding investigation themes into the Safeguarding & Reporting Manager's monthly trend reporting
You're the right person if
- You've got at least three years in safeguarding, child protection, incident management or investigations within a regulated human services environment
- You write like the regulator is going to read it,
because they will
- You can run a live register of concurrent investigations without losing track of a single one
- You work to statutory timeframes under pressure, and it never shows up in the quality of your work
- You can review someone else's documentation and tell them, clearly and constructively, what needs to change
Why Kanda
You'd be joining at a genuinely formative moment. Queensland's Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 introduces a structural independence requirement for reportable conduct investigations from 1 July 2026, and this role is how Kanda is meeting it properly rather than scrambling to retrofit a fix. You'll work closely with the Safeguarding & Reporting Manager, and your standards will directly shape how the wider Safeguarding and Reporting Officer team documents its work.
Based in Brisbane, with flexibility to work from any of our Queensland office locations. If defensible, regulator-ready documentation is where your standards naturally sit, we want to talk to you.
Not quite ready for a senior role? We're also recruiting a Safeguarding and Reporting Officer, focused on incident reporting and Service Manager coaching.
