We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Painter / Blaster to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for abrasive blasting, surface preparation, industrial painting, and protective coating applications on a range of equipment, structures, and surfaces.

The role requires a strong commitment to quality, workplace health and safety, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform abrasive blasting and surface preparation to required specifications.
- Prepare steel and other surfaces for painting and protective coatings.
- Apply primers, paints, protective coatings, and finishes using spray, brush, and roller techniques.
- Operate and maintain blasting and painting equipment.
- Inspect surfaces before, during, and after preparation and coating.
- Mix paints and coatings according to manufacturer specifications.
- Achieve required coating thickness, finish, and quality standards.
- Set up and maintain blasting and painting areas, including containment where required.
- Use appropriate PPE and follow all safety procedures and site requirements.
- Identify and report equipment faults, surface defects, and safety hazards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area.
- Complete job documentation, coating records, and inspection reports as required.
- Work in accordance with company procedures, project specifications, and relevant Australian Standards.

Skills and Experience

- Previous experience as a Painter / Blaster or Industrial Painter / Blaster.
- Experience with abrasive blasting and industrial protective coatings.
- Knowledge of surface preparation standards and coating systems.
- Ability to operate blasting pots,



spray equipment, compressors, and associated tools.
- Good understanding of paint mixing, application techniques, and coating thickness requirements.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, specifications, and safety documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work safely in confined spaces, elevated areas, and varying site conditions where required.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual work for extended periods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications & Licences

- Relevant trade qualification or demonstrated industry experience.
- Relevant blasting and painting qualifications/certifications are highly desirable.
- White Card.
- Working at Heights and Confined Space certification, where required.
- High Risk Work Licences and other relevant tickets are advantageous.
- Current driver's licence is desirable.

This includes the correct use of PPE, protected handling of hazardous substances, respiratory protection, equipment safety, and adherence to all applicable procedures and regulations.

Pay: $38.00 – $40.00 per hour
