Job Description
About the Program:
The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program is an Australian Government initiative providing free training in reading, writing, math, English language, and digital skills to eligible job seekers and individuals. It offers flexible part-time or full time learning options up to 25 hours a week.
About the Position:
The Waalitj Foundation has an exciting opportunity for a hands-on position as an SEE Employment Mentor to join our team, based in Leonora. This is a full-time, fixed term position until 03 September 2027.
The SEE Mentor provides strengths-based, culturally respectful, and person-centred support to participants of the Yaaliku Region through literacy numeracy and digital literacy training. This role walks alongside participants throughout their employment journey, helping them overcome barriers, build confidence, and achieve meaningful employment or community engagement outcomes.

To be successful in this role:
- Completion of qualifications in Education, Employment Services, Community Services, or related field (or willingness to obtain) or related field and/or equivalent previous experience
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as effectively as part of a team
- Demonstrated strength in the use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Outlook
- Ability to effectively work with diverse range of clients (Vulnerable Participants, Indigenous, Mature Age)
- Commitment to ensuring high professional standards and the upholding of the Foundation’s reputation at all times
- Act with integrity at all times and ensure that areas of responsibility operate in an open, transparent and accountable manner
- Previous experience in a similar role
